Tech Reflection

Today was our last tech session for the year. Today we were trying to finish our so that we can take it home for the year and show it to our family. Unfortunately I did not finish my project, but happy with the outcome of my design. We worked hard this year during tech and had a fun year with Tamaki College. Coming to the end of the year the year 8's is going to leave to their secondary school sadly meaning they will not be able to come tech next year. New year and new journey for the other students who are going to continue the Panmure Bridge tradition and going to tech every Fridays. Luckily for Tamaki college they will receive some students from our school. We had fun this year and will have even more fun going on to our secondary school.

Tech - Art

Today at tech we are transferring our designs onto our piece of wood. I have finished that step and are now up to colouring my finish design. After colouring my design the next step is to carve the piece of wood and use wet paint to finish our design. Next week I will be finish colouring my piece of art and will be up to painting it which I am really excited about. 

Term 4 - Tech Reflection

Today we had our first tech session for term 4. We were onto moving our drawing from our papers onto a piece of wood. After putting your design onto the piece of wood we had to scrape the blank spacing with a chizzle. I have finish drawing my design and up to putting it onto a piece of wood. Our design had to relate to our culture so I decided to draw the Tongan flag and some simple Tongan patterns. Next week I'm excited to finish my wood piece and move onto using the chisel

Tech - Pewter casting

Today at tech we finishing of our workbook that had the designs and people we were thinking of giving it to. I have made my choice of who to give it to and decided to pick my mum. The design I picked to give to her was a heart. We are now tracing our design onto a piece of wood to cut it out using a special type of machine. After cutting our design out of the wood we put a same size wood one on each side to hold the wood for after they pour the melted medal in. Next week hopefully I will be up to putting the string into the piece of medal to finally finish my design. It is the second week of our tech session and surprised that we are nearly finished. I am looking forward to next week to finish my design and to give it to my mum. 

Tech - Food Tech

Today the year 7 and 8 went to tech at Tamaki college for their second session of their new rotation. Half of the year 7 did art, the other did food tech and the whole year 8 did Hard Materials. Today at food tech Mrs Heka (our cooking teacher) explained to us how to cook bacon and egg pie. The equipment we needed was 2 measuring bowls, 2 knives, 2 choping board, 1 wooden spoon and a rolling pin. The ingredients we needed was bacon, cheese, spaghetti and dough. Each person had 4 pies. I worked collaboratively with my buddy's Jeremiah and Miki. The bacon and egg pie was delicious.

Tech - Art

Today at tech we had our new rotations, we have just finished cooking and was excited for our new rotation. Our new rotation was art with Mr stagg, In art we had to get A4 paper and got to draw our cultural patterns we had to divide our paper into 5 parts so that each part gets a pattern or something got to do with our culture in the patters. In my first divided half I drawed a Tongan Allamanda flower and in my second divided part I'm planning to write a Tongan ngatu pattern based on my culture.

Cooking tech

Today we went to tech at Tamaki College. For tech our group is doing cooking and in 2 weeks we are changing. Today we made scones with bacon, cheese, eggs and milk San kyaw and I collaborated a manage to made 15 scones at the end I shared with my friends and it tasted delicous. 

Wood Work - Tech

Today we went to tech at Tamaki College. I was excited because I was nearly finished doing 

my joint. When we got there I did my propellers once it was glued I worked on my paper to try and get top marks. 

Wood Work - Tech

Every Friday we go to Tamaki College School and do tech. This term at Tech I'm doing wood work with
Mr.Grundy. At Tech I'm excited to do cooking because I want to maybe discover new foods and maybe learn how to cook at the same time.

Wood Work - Tech

Today we went teck and split into our tech groups. At tech Im with Mr Grundy doing Wood Work. We learn new techniques every Fridays. I am finished my picture drawing and my hand sketches I also finished my measurements and now im sawing. Today I just finished my sawing and now I have to make a joint. Were also using a new tool shaped like a hammer but made out of wood this object is called a Marking Gauge.  

Wood Work - Tech

Every Friday we go Tech at Tamaki College we have alot of subjects I'm in wood work with

Mr.Grundy. We have so much fun out of my choices of objects. My choice was a helicopter

Tech Wood work

Today was the first day of tech for this year and the year 7's I did wood work with Fatongia
our instructor was Mr Grundy we had to wear closed shoes because it was dangerous in there with the tools.
