Farewell Spit has been in the news recently as a number of whales accidentally swam into the spit and became stuck on the beach. They were unable to swim back to the ocean because the water was too shallow. Many local people tried to save the ‘beached’ whales. - Kept the beached animals wet
- Cover the whales with wet towels
- Keep their blow wholes clear
- Keep away from their tales
- Put water in chill bins and water bottles for the whales

ReplyDeleteSo many of those poor whales died because they didn't have enough water. It was nice of the local people to try and save them, even if most of their efforts were futile. Well done on this activity.

ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the whales that died. It good that people in the local community helped the whales, but unfortunately there wasn't enough water so the whales die. Have you ever seen a whale before in real life? Keep up the awesome work!
