Time table warm ups

Today I used a game "Hit the Button" to help us recall our 4 x answers quickly. I found it harder to find the answer so I will be practising this in my own time.

Dance

Today in Dance Sanujan and I had to practise our warm ups with our songs to perform to our group. In our warm ups we did toe kicks, star jumps, burpies and Russian twists. After that we had to make another dance using shapes, waves and different heights. Our dance moves were in different angles in 45 degrees Sanujan and I has been using geometrical shapes. I found this hard because I had to move like a robot.

Reducing food waste

This is my DLO of how to reduce food waste and why to reduce food waste. Reducing food waste
is important because landfills will be around the world if you don't. Composting is important as well because it can turn food scraps and paper into soil. Did you know 1.2 million tonnes of landfill is buried beneath our grown each year and 3/4 of it could of been saved and composted.

Maths Strategy

This is my Maths strategy that I have been learning this week. I have been using place values
to solve these Maths questions. I also used a story to draw the reader in and to connect the
story with the Maths question. I found this easy because once I learnt it I could solve any equation.

Sons of Ma'afu

This is my Making connection of the book called Sons of Ma'afu. I made a connection with another book called The seven stars of Matariki these 2 books have a connection because they both involve stars. I also made a connection with the famous constellation The Southern Cross. The last connection that I made with myself was when I hit the ball and it cracked my kitchen window this was a connection because the sons of Ma'afu threw spears and nearly hit people.

Dance

Today at dance we first had to practise our warm up from last week for an energiser. After that we had to get into partners and watch a video of something similar that we had to do. In this photo Sylis and I are forming a square and a circle. We are showing our dance to another partner and they had to give us feedback. In our dance we could use free flow which was moving our body without using our bones. Bound flow was moving our hand like a robot and we also could do out dance in levels which were high, medium and low. In our dance we had angular movements and also twisted movements which were hard. I found this fun because this was a new dance for me.

World of Maths

Yesterday LS2 and LS1 went to the hall to do a activity called World of Maths . We got into lines and collaborated on each activity. Every one of us participated and contributed to every activity and managed to complete them together. My favourite activity was Let me pass because we had to use our knowledge and  it was a good challenging activity. We used our key competencies which are Thinking, Relating to others, Using symbols, Managing self, participating and also contributing.

Nuclear Free NZ

This DLO is about Nuclear Free NZ I created this to learn about nuclear weapons
and what happen when NZ became nuclear free.

Dance

Why is warming up important?

Warming up is important before exercising because it gently prepares the body by gradually increasing the heart rate and circulation which loosens the joints and it keeps the blood flow to the muscles. Stretching the muscles prepares them for physical activities and prevents them from injuries.

Our task was to find exercising stretches and make a routine with our partners. I enjoyed this because Sylis and I challenged ourselves.

Next week Sylis and I need to improve on our timing so we move at the same time and to work on our squat.

Current Events

For Inquiry, Miki and I created a DLO about what has happened in the news recently.
This is a current event about the Chinese government banning the sales of ivory.
Miki and I think that this was a good decision because the
elephants might become instinct if the buying and selling of ivory will be allowed to continue.
