Day 5 - Bonus 10 points

Bonus Activity: You and your tour group have enjoyed your day in the mountains but you’re ready for a change of scenery. You ask Curious Kiwi to take you to Central Otago, a region of the south island with lots of rolling hills and flat, brown grasslands. While in Central Otago, you decide to join the Otago Central Rail Trail – a 150 km long cycle trail. Curious Kiwi and I (Rachel) cycled the Rail Trail in April and we loved it!

On your blog, tell us whether you would like to cycle the Otago Rail Trail one day. Does it sound like fun? Why or why not?
C:\Users\rwil313\Desktop\Rach Rail Trail.jpgYes I would really like to join the Otago Central Rail Trail and do a 150 km long cycle trail because it sounds really fun. I would want to do this because I would want to lose weight and to be better at cycling. This will push me to a higher level at cycling and maybe I might enjoy it and do it more often.

  1. Hey Freeman
I would also love to ride the Otago Central Rail Trail. It does seem like a lot of fun. I wonder how long doing the entire 150 kilometers would take. Keep up the amazing work.

  2. Hi Freeman
One of my friends has done this. I saw lots of photos and it looked amazing but I am shocked to see in your post that it is 150km! I did rode a part of the Hauraki Rail Trail from Paeroa to Waihi. It was heaps of fun but only 25km! Well done for taking part in the Winter Learning Journey. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your posts :)

  3. Hey Freeman!

I love that you would take this as an opportunity to push yourself - it would be quite a challenge, but it would be so worth it. I absolutely think you would find it enjoyable and be inspired to bike more often! If I had a bike, I would find some beautiful places to ride as I love biking!

Keep up the great work Freeman!

    Nicky :)

  4. Kia Ora
Great reason on why you would go on the Otago Central Rail Trail. I would also go cycling on the Otago Central Rail Trail because it sounds fun. I would also want to be better at cycling. Have you ever cycled at least 50 km. Keep up the great work!

  5. Hi Freeman. I would also like to cycle there. Like Daniel, I am curious to know how long it would take to make it till the end. Keep up the fabulous work.

  6. Hello Freeman, I also would like to cycle there. The Otago Rail Trail is 150kms. Since it is quite long it would help if you want to lose weight. Keep on going and I can't wait to see more posts.
